ISLL Follow up afternoon 2009

June 25th we had a small engaged group of participants return for an afternoon. We spent just over an hour in very directed and thoughful group work viewing a video called 'The School Library is a mash up'. We related the points in the video to the Six Principles supporting the school library and discussed what each person could apply to their school library. The most important point made is: do one thing at a time and do it really really well!
We also spent time reading an article called 'What reading does for the mind' and discussing the implications of the research findings with regard to each school library. The following address will get you a copy of the article.

The last part of the afternoon was spent discussing the ideas, questions and issues that people bought to the meeting.
Remember everyone that you can be of alot of help to each other. Use the blog, talk on the phone, email each other and visit each other.
