Here goes finally....task 4

Hi Pauline
After reading the articles in the gazette, the areas that stood out to me as far as good librarian practise and good schools with libraries were as follows -
*the importance that schools have an enthusiastic librarian that has a good knowledge of their library.
*that processes are formed to enthuse and capture those students that do not have books as a normal everyday part of their life. Maybe reading has not been made interesting or fun to them before, as librarians this should definitely be a priority.
*Ideas about clubs and changing displays to keep the library alive to the children and teaching staff.
*Schools where the principal has the belief that the library truly is the hub of the school learning and literacy will far more easily make the library an exciting and hip place to be.

Thanks for your patience Pauline, will post photos tomorrow!

Rachel that was so informative. I agree that the library should be kept fresh and alive.

Knowing the library is very important as is a genuine love of books and the students who read them.

I have tried to buy or obtain the books that have been requested by the students - not always easy but so important to become and stay credible in their eyes.
